These activity based books with CD’s have been very carefully designed to offer help and guidance to any early years practitioner, who wants to inject some inspiration into an activity or needs to bring fresh ideas into their planning.
The Play Foundations series are based on the EYFS principles and each activity links to Enabling Environments, a Unique Child and Positive Relationships as well as offering support with early communication. The books are thematic and each book is divided into five chapters with each chapter having six activities. Although the books have a theme, and contain photo-copiable pages, the focus is not overly prescriptive and the emphasis is on the process of exploring and learning. Each book in the 3-5 year old series is accompanied by a CD-Rom, which supports the activities in the book. This has been designed for children to use, encouraging ICT skills and assisting practitioners with the planning of their experiences.
All books are user-friendly and encourage practitioners to think about children’s learning in a more holistic way. You can dip in and out of these books as reference material or you can take an activity and expand the experiences to suit the needs of individual children. These books are a useful resource for early years practitioners, childminders and parents.
